Tour - Savoy Auto Museum in Cartersville, GA

  • 13 May 2023
  • 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

On Saturday, May 13th, we will tour the Savoy Auto Museum in Cartersville, GA.

The normal admission charge is $15.00, but if we have more than 10 members, the price drops to $13/person.  Before heading to the Savoy, we will meet at the Ate Track Bar & Grill for lunch at noon.  The restaurant opens at noon on Saturday, so there’s no need to arrive early.  The address for Ate Track is 25 N. Wall St., Cartersville 30120. If you’re prefer, you can have lunch at the Savoy.  Dave Kirkman will give us a tour at 1:30.

The classic British cars are more works of art than driving machines.  Stan and Susan Cryz’s concours 1954 Arnolt Bristol Bolide is worth the price of admission.   It’s hard to imagine today how the Italians and British could have worked together, with a little help from the Americans, to create a near perfect sports car.  Wayne Carini’s 1952 J2 Allard looks like it did on the dealer’s showroom floor.

If you haven’t been to the Savoy, the cars are rare and beautifully restored. The museum is only about a year old. The Savoy has a special exhibit of rare British cars from the 50’s and 60’s.

This is a list of cars that have committed to come: 1962 AC Ace-Bristol; 1956 Austin Healey 100/4 M; J2 Allard; 1950 Alvis TB 14; 1952 Arnolt MG and 1954 Arnolt Bristol Bolid; 1948 Jaguar XK 120 (Alloy), 1963 Jaguar E-Type FHC; and1962 Lotus Elite.

These cars are on loan to the Savoy from sometime in March to the end of June.
